Ginger, usually thought of as a food, is an effective remedy I recommend routinely to prevent motion sickness and nausea. Its also good for an upset stomach. Take 1 gram of ginger 30 minutes before you board ship, then 1/2 to 1 gram every 4 hours thereafter - but no more than 24 grams in any 24 hour period.
